This site is a tribute to Douglas Padgett, Yorkshire and England Cricketer.

Douglas suffered from both Wet and Dry Macular Degeneration for the last fifteen years of his life. As a person who made it to international level in his field, relying on hand eye co-ordination was a pre-requisite and Macular Degeneration robbed him of this. A particularly cruel affliction in his case.

Douglas’s family were particularly keen to have donations in remembrance of Doug, made to The Macular Society. They thank you for your support and kind thoughts. Hopefully this will be another small step towards curing this disease.
